DE SYNTETISKE MALERIER |
De syntetiske malerier |
the project De syntetiske malerier proposes a sort of reinterpretation of the historic paintings of the Skagen colony through Artificial Intelligence.Supported and developed thanks to the Skagen AIR residency at the Skagens Kunstmuseer, it offers the opportunity to develop it in the original physical space (landscape, houses, gardens, and even P.S. Kroyer's studio), which is a unique opportunity to bring the work of the studio and the virtuality of the images generated with algorithms closer to physical reality, giving them truth, and in some way, this brings them closer to the intentions of those painters.

The referenced images were generated using artificial intelligence and then painted like a Trompe-l'œil of postcards simulating existing paintings. The synthetic paintings created with AI were based on paintings and artists from the Skagen Colony to specifically fit this particular historical period.
